Foresight by Erika M Szabo Blog tour and GIVE AWAY!!!!!!

FORESIGHT, part one of the Guarded Secrets series Ilona has been in love with her unsuspecting best friend, when a dashing stranger explodes into her life. The sudden magnetic feeling frightens her. Will he break her heart, or will he bring true happiness? A sinister dark man appears, Ilona connects his presence with the series of mysterious deaths around her. She is an emergency room doctor, born into an ancient tribe which still exists hidden amongst us with its fiercely enforced rules. She doesn’t know much about her heritage besides legends and rituals that she continues out of respect for her parents.   She begins to remember the forgotten instructions concealed as rhymes her mother was teaching her since she was a small child and discovers that she can rearrange the human body to its healthy state.   This ability is exciting as well as frightening. She is conflicted between having confidence in her intelligence and inherited abilities while having no confidence as a woman. Her insecurity created barriers which keep others out, and I also keep her caged in.   She has been evacuated from her easy and steady life, and is forced to face the unknown.

My Review:  I really enjoyed this book. I had no knowledge of the Huns or their legends. I am truly fascinated and cannot wait to read more of their history and find out more of their laws. I know that this book is based on fiction but has some real aspects mixed in. I love that in a book. Especially when it comes to a tribe or ancient people that are not well known to me. The names of the characters are very unusual and I am not sure exactly how to pronounce them but they are very unique. I love how the story plays out. I love the characters, the story line and how everything comes together. The ending left me trying like crazy to find more to read. I cannot WAIT for the next book to come out. Author Erika M Szabo has DEFINITELY made a new fan in me!!!!

I love to read magical realism/fantasy stories. About two years ago, on a rainy afternoon, I wanted to snuggle up on the couch to read, but I didn’t have any new books.
I voiced my disappointment, while browsed my numerous bookshelves.
My daughter had enough after a while and said, “Mom, stop whining! If you don’t have a book to read, then write one.”
She surprised me with her statement, but I took her advice, sat down and started writing my Guarded Secrets series.

    1. psychics fascinate me too. my sister has has psychic episodes where she predicts people's deaths (just family or close friends, not deaths of strangers). and she says she's sensed certain ghostly presences, as i have too -- especially our grandmother. everything will smell like coffee when there's none brewing, no take out containers of coffee anywhere in the house even. the psychic element to this book definitely makes me want to read it.

  4. My favorite thing about reading paranormal stories is comparing them to existing folklore. I'm a librarian, I can't help it!! I don't know much about the Huns from history besides the famous Attila and their status as the enemy of China in the Disney movie "Mulan," so this actually might prompt me to do a bit more research. (Also: I love it when authors include a bibliography of their inspirations at the end of the story, as it feeds my research bug!)
