The Call of the Wild by Jack London

When I was at Barnes and Noble the other day, I saw The Call of the Wild. I just had to buy it! When I started reading it, it was not at all what I expected.
You are taken from a warm comfortable home, in Buck, the dog's point of view, to the Yukon territory where men and animal alike are mean and brutal. While reading, you come to feel sorry for Buck and his trials. Though he is learning and sensing his heritage.
This is a great book, and I give it 4.5 stars! Jack London describes the barren wasteland so well, that you feel as if you are in Alaska, though that could be because I read this during the winter!
Though this book has dogs in it, it is not for young children. There is violence and cruelty and it is dark in nature.
