Review: Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward

Lover Avenged is the seventh installment in JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This one features the half symphath half vampire and total baddie Rehvenge. As fans of the series know Rehvenge has to heavily drug himself with dopamine to control his symphath urges. While his drug use increases and is spinning way out of control he meets Elhena. Ehlena is a nurse at the vampire clinic run by Dr. Havers. She is gentle natured but resilient as she takes cares of her mentally ill father and hopes for some romance. Things heat up when the symphath princess learns of the budding romance between Rehvenge and Elhena. She is in love with Rehvenge and blackmails him for his romantic attention. Rehvenge must choose between protecting Ehlena and his vast club and drug dealing empire. His world is spinning away. As a bonus readers are treated to a subplot featuring Wrath the blind king and his mate Beth.

I am a huge fan of this series. This installment did not disappoint. I It was a bit lengthy but filled with rollercoaster like twists and turns. You can’t help but feel for Rehvenge. He does not always do the right thing. His life has been difficult and he has committed some questionable acts of violence. But as always by the end of this book JR Ward just leaves you hungry for more. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. 4 ½ stars.

*We realize that this review is a little out of order but sometimes you can't help but revisit the best books.
